Budding historian

Last night at dinner we were discussing fictional and non-fictional stories. After talking extensively about fiction, I asked Evelyn to give me an example of non-fiction. I was expecting her to say something about what we did that morning or in the preceding week.

In fact, her answer was (drumroll, please.....) ...the Battle of Lake Erie, with Captain Perry. She of course used her own words to describe it, but that's the story she came up with. Gotta love this kid!

Evelyn: The reason I took that outfit off was because those pants were annoying my dress.

Evelyn, regarding the "outhouse-style" toilet in our basement:

"Mommy, why didn't God make a sink in this bathroom?"
