E: But I really want to marry someone!

S: Well, that guy is really shy, so he isn't going to marry you.

E: But then who can I marry???

S: Just marry someone in your own family.

After discussing the seasons for various fruits....

Me: Look! It's snow season! Maybe we should eat some snow!

Evelyn: No, that wouldn't be good for your body!

Me: Do you know what snow is made of?

Evelyn: ..... (slowly, hesitantly) ... calcium???

Imaginary friend

Sierra's imaginary friend Ellie has two moms, three sisters, and four babysitters that live next door to her. Evelyn's imaginary friend is Crystal Rose Rainbow. Both of these very special individuals are apparently coming for dinner tonight.

To freeze or not to freeze

Sierra: I want to live where it snows all the time, but not somewhere where it's, like, freezing, because that would be way too cold for me.

Diversity

Evelyn's class has been discussing Martin Luther King, Jr. the last few weeks, and each child was asked to define "diversity" and "equality". Evelyn's answers were:

Diversity: Their hair can be not the same and they can still play.

Equality: They can't fight.

Ev: If you eat up my cheeks they won't grow back!

Me: Really? Why not?
