The sole soul Sammy

The back story:
Sammy is a teddy bear in our house who has the distinction of being the first animal or doll on whom Sierra bestowed a proper name. She did this over a year ago, before she was even two, and in fact, Sam is the name of one of the guys from the cabinet shop that came to take measurements when we were doing our kitchen. Sam, the teddy bear, received his auspicious name the day following Sam, the cabinet maker's appearance.

Today:
We were playing "Story Time" and all of the animals and dolls had to travel by stroller, one by one, into the entry way and sit on the steps for story time. When it was all over, Sierra asked where they were going to go home to. I suggested that maybe they lived in all different places, but some of them might live in the same house (i.e. perhaps all the bears live together in one house as a family, all the dogs together, etc.) This was a popular notion, and the bear family's house ended up on the couch since there were so many of them. When it was Sammy's turn to go home, I pointed out that he was a bear so he must go to the bear's house on the couch. Sierra was indignant. "Sammy's not a bear!! He's just.... he's just Sammy!"
