Stairmaster
Evelyn can totally go up stairs now--doesn't have the hang of going down yet, so I have to sort of be on her all the time. She still crawls right up to the steps and over the edge and would totally be in a heap if I wasn't there to catch her. This morning she was happily playing in the living room on the other side of the couch from where the stairs are and she seemed rather absorbed, so when I heard Sierra waking up, I left her there playing while I went up to get Sierra. By the time I got back downstairs, she had abandoned her toy in the living room, and was up the three stairs and under the pianos goofing around with the percussion intstruments.
She certainly doesn't seem to crawl around simply for the joy of crawling, though--she is pretty much always goal oriented. Just today she started extending her left arm out in a grasping motion every time it comes free in the crawl cycle--maybe to see if the objects in her vision are actually closer than they appear.
