I call thee by thy name, Sister!
We were headed for the checkout in the grocery store with Sierra in the lead and me behind pushing Evi in the cart. We had been walking fast, and Sierra was cruising on ahead, but I needed to stop and look at something. I called, "Sierra!" but she didn't hear me and kept going, so I called her again a bit louder. At this point, Evi craned around as far as she could trying to see Sierra, and shouted out just about as loud as I've ever heard her shout anything, "Sa sa sa sa sa!!!!!"
I've told the story to several people, and Sierra loves it because she is so thrilled that Evi is saying her name! Now she asks me to tell her the story constantly and if we see anyone that hasn't heard it, she wants me to tell it to them.
It was only a week before or so that Evi started saying Mama and you could tell that she was really frustrated because she would look at Jonathan and say Dada, and look at me and say Mama and then look at Sierra with this confused look on her face. You could tell that she was just so irritated that she didn't have the ability to say anything for Sierra's name!
