The day before SCHOOL!

This morning the girls crawled in the bed with us and we were all enjoying the quiet morning, not having to leap out of bed and get moving. I had my dress rehearsal here at the house last night for a concert I'm playing on Wednesday, and Sierra did not stay up for it, but she knew that it was going to happen when she went to bed. As we were laying there this morning, she turned suddenly and asked, "Oh, Mommy, how did your concert go last night?" It was just so grown-up and the exact thing that one of my girlfriends might have said, it just took me completely by surprise!

It was a lovely, lazy day and I decided that since the girls start school tomorrow (it's Evi's first day of preschool ever!) that we would do something special. I took them to the zoo and we spent almost the whole day there, not rushing around at all, just taking our time and enjoying ourselves, stopping to have snacks (or ice cream) whenever we felt like it!

We did come back in time for Sierra's swimming class (she's going to take swimming lessons for the next three weeks) and she had SO much fun! When I came back to pick her up, she kept wanting to show me all the stuff they did, even though it was time for her to get out of the water. Finally, after reminding her that she would be back tomorrow, she agreed to come out of the water.

Then tonight I realized that I hadn't done my Mommy homework for the first day of school. So.... I've just spent the last few hours putting together Evi's "All About Me" scrapbook that she will have in the classroom, with pictures of family, home life, and other stuff that is important to 2-yr-olds! It turned out quite cute, if I do say so myself....
