Science maniac
On the first day of school Sierra came home with a list of science project ideas. Each student is expected to choose two of the projects to complete at home sometime during the month of September and then share them with the class. I sat down with her and read all of the ideas so that she could mark the ones that she was the most interested in. Out of 20 ideas, she wanted me to mark about 13 of them! So far (as of... what day is it?.... August 29?) she has done three of them already. Who is this kid related to anyway???? LOL. With the two parents she got stuck with, she's pretty much predestined to be an overachiever, so I don't know why I'm surprised...
The first project we did was to collect leaves from 10 or more trees in our neighborhood. That was really fun... especially the part where our neighbors came home from a walk to find us crawling through the tree branches in their yard... Both of the girls found it really interesting to look at the many different shapes, colors, and textures of the various leaves we found. We are currently pressing them in a book.
