Little fish

Sierra has been taking swimming lessons every day this week and last. In just those few days she went from the clenching death grip to totally swimming on her own (still relatively short distances, but at least more than twice her body length). Her favorite thing is going underwater. She can hold her breath FOREVER (it sort of freaks me out!) and she just comes up to the surface as leisurely as you can imagine, as if she could stay under for another whole minute. She comes up right to the surface, but then just bobs around with the top of her head sticking out, but her face still under. Then when she's good and ready, she slowly lifts her face out. Her teacher is astounded by this and claims that she's never seen anything like it! Her teacher also says that Sierra talks while she's under the water--I can't hear this from the side of the pool of course, but apparently she just keeps up her steady stream of conversation whether or not she's above or under the water! I think she honestly thinks we can all hear and understand her!!

Evelyn has gone in for a few minutes on a couple of occasions and today she did especially well--they both seem to be very comfortable in the water, which is so fun for me to see!
