A baseball fan is born
We took the whole family to a baseball game on Father's Day and Sierra was pretty enthralled by it--even though she was pretty sleepy, as the game coincided with her usual naptime. Jonathan explained a lot to her and she was very interested in watching what was going on. The next day I was asking her what she remembered about it. I was honestly expecting her first response to be that we had gotten crackerjacks and a pretzel, but in fact, the thing she said first was, "Wind up the pitcher!" and she was waving her arms around in a circle. I asked her what happens after the pitcher winds up and she said "He throws it!" She was a little foggy on the batting part, but after I reminded her of that and asked what happens next, she said, "ball go up, up, up in the air!" She has also been asking us to sing "Take me out to the ballgame" every two seconds and she knows a goodly number of the lyrics now. She sings the Pittsburgh version.... "and it's root, root, root for the Pirates...." ........and I guess that's how a new sports fan is born!!!
